Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment information
What is Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment used for?
Due to their incredibly sensitive skin, around 1 in 4 babies who wear nappies will develop nappy rash at some point. Among other causes, Nappy rash is usually triggered by your baby’s skin rubbing against their nappy for a prolonged period of time.
Most babies may not feel any discomfort from nappy rash, but if the rash goes undetected or is left untreated, your baby is likely to become uncomfortable and distressed. If this happens, Metanium nappy rash ointment can be used to treat the affected area by soothing the skin and gently relieving any skin irritation.
How does Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment work?
There are three active ingredients in Metanium ointment which work in combination to treat nappy rash. These are:
- Titanium dioxide
- Titanium peroxide
- Titanium salicylate
These ingredients help to form a protective barrier over your baby’s sensitive skin, protecting from further skin irritation. They also act as a water repellant, preventing damp conditions which can aggravate the rash.
How do I use Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment?
Use Metanium nappy cream after you’ve removed your baby’s soiled nappy.
- Clean and wash the affected area thoroughly, and gently pat dry with a soft towel.
- Wash your hands thoroughly and apply a small, pea-sized amount of nappy cream over the affected area using a fingertip.
- Spread the ointment thinly, making sure all of the skin affected by the rash has been covered.
- Repeat if required at each nappy change.
How often should I use Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment?
Metanium nappy cream can be used on a daily basis at every nappy change to soothe irritation and redness. Regular use will help to prevent any further irritation from developing.
If symptoms persist consult your doctor or health visitor.
Who is Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment suitable for?
Metanium can be used to treat your baby’s nappy rash symptoms from birth. The formulation is fragrance-free and doesn’t contain lanolin, so it is suitable for vegan households, too.
