About Infacol Colic & Wind Relief Drops
With a proven formula that has been providing effective relief for babies and newborns for over 30 years, Infacol colic drops are specially formulated to alleviate trapped wind, infant colic and griping pain. With a convenient dropper for easy application and a delicious orange flavour free from sugar, alcohol or colourants, Infacol can be used from birth onwards, keeping your baby comfortable and helping them to sleep soundly after each feed.
What is Infacol used for?
Infacol is given to babies to relieve colic, griping pain and trapped wind. Given before each feed, Infacol colic drops contain a clinically proven formula that can get to work within 30 minutes. Continued usage over several days may help to prevent further wind buildup.
How does Infacol work?
Infacol is an antiflatulent, which means that it helps to bring up wind and air trapped in a baby’s tummy. Colic is often caused by the buildup of small gas bubbles trapped inside the stomach. Simeticone, the active ingredient contained in Infacol drops, works by helping these small gas bubbles join into bigger ones. Your baby can more easily bring these larger bubbles up as wind, easing any pain or discomfort caused by trapped air.
Alternatives to Infacol Colic & Wind Relief Drops
Colic in babies can have a number of causes, and you should speak to your doctor, health visitor or pharmacist if you’re unsure.
If your baby is suffering from colic as a result of temporary lactose intolerance, Colief Infant Drops offer natural, symptomatic relief from pain, discomfort and distress.
How to use Infacol
The normal dose of Infacol is one full dropper (0.5ml) given before each feed. To give your baby a dose of Infacol, simply follow these steps:
- Gently shake the bottle
- Draw up one dropper full by squeezing the bulb twice (let any excess run back into the bottle)
- Administer by squeezing the bulb and releasing the Infacol onto the back
of your baby’s tongue
If after 3 or 4 days your baby’s colic has still not improved, the dose may be increased to two droppers (1ml).
How often can you give Infacol?
Infacol drops can be given to your baby before each feed. To achieve the best results, Infacol should be used for several days. You can continue to use Infacol for several weeks, although if your baby’s colic does not improve you should speak to your doctor, health visitor or pharmacist.
If you forget to give your baby one or more doses, simply give the next dose before the baby’s next feed.
How long does Infacol take to work?
Infacol usually starts to work within 30 minutes. You should continue to give your baby Infacol for at least a few days to ensure their colic does not return.
Who is Infacol suitable for?
Infacol colic drops are suitable for all infants and babies from birth onwards.
