About Dermol 200 Shower Emollient
A moisturising shower emollient that can be used as a soap replacement or directly as a moisturising skin protector, Dermol 200 Shower Emollient works against irritated skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Unlike many normal soaps, this shower emollient doesn't remove your body's natural oils and helps to retain moisture and prevent skin from drying out.
Dermol 200 Shower Emollient information
What is Dermol 200 Shower Emollient and what is it used for?
Dermol 200 is a moisturising shower emollient that can be used instead of regular soap. Dermol moisturises and protects the skin against irritating conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Unlike some soaps, Dermol 200 doesn't remove your body’s natural oils. This means that your skin can retain its moisture and stop it from drying out.
Aside from maintaining your skin's moisture levels, Dermol 200 acts as an antiseptic, helping to keep scaly and itchy skin at bay. Dermol 200 can be used either when washing or applied to the skin directly as a dry moisturiser.
Acting as both an antimicrobial and an emollient, Dermol 200 can be easily integrated into your normal washing routine. And it’s even safe for the kids to use. Dermol can be used as both a treatment and a preventative measure for skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.
How does Dermol 200 Shower Emollient work?
Dermol 200 treats your skin conditions with two active ingredients:
- Benzalkonium Chloride
- Chlorhexidine Dihydrochloride
These two ingredients are antimicrobials and work by attacking any harmful bacteria on your skin that is causing it to inflame and itch.
Dermol 200 shower emollient also includes two moisturising agents:
- Liquid Paraffin
- Isopropyl Myristate
These two ingredients work to soften and moisturise the skin. They do this by helping to protect your body's natural moisture, promoting healthier skin and preventing it from drying out.

In order to make sure that Dermol 200 is the right product for you, please read the following warnings carefully.
Dermol 200 should not be used if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed above.
As with most medications, severe allergic reactions are possible in certain individuals. In these rare cases, individuals can experience a drop in blood pressure and even become unconscious.
Do not use Dermol 200 if you have had a bad experience with any products containing chlorhexidine before.

Dermol 200 Shower Emollient FAQs
Dermol can be used for any conditions which make the skin dry and itchy.
Dermol 200 works by taking advantage of the four main ingredients listed above. These ingredients work together to create a waterproof barrier on the skin’s surface, preventing moisture from being lost and helping your skin retain its moisture. It also acts as an antiseptic, targeting problem bacterium on the skin's surface, and decreasing irritation.
Dermol can be used as a soap substitute or applied directly to the skin as a moisturiser. After you have washed, always make sure to gently pat your body, rather than rubbing it dry, as this will increase irritation.
When using Dermol in conjunction with a bath or shower, take extra care not to slip. It is possible that Dermol might make the bath or shower slipperier than usual.
There are no known negative effects associated with using Dermol and pregnancy or breastfeeding, however if you are worried you should consult with your doctor before use. For more information on potential side effects, please see below.
