Naprosyn Information
What is Naprosyn and what is it used for?
Naprosyn Tablets are a highly effective pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. They contain the active ingredient Naproxen, which is a non-steroid anti-inflammatory (NSAID). Both aspirin and ibuprofen are similar NSAIDs, however, Naprosyn is more powerful providing more substantial relief.
Naprosyn tablets can be purchased as either 250 mg or 500 mg in packs of 56. They are suitable for adults over the age of 18 years to relieve pain caused by sprains, strains, gout and arthritis that is also accompanied by swelling.
How does Naprosyn work?
Naprosyn is a branded version of the NSAID Naproxen. Naproxen helps to relieve pain and reduce inflammation by blocking the enzymes that cause this response. By preventing an inflammatory response at the site of injury or damage, Naprosyn noticeably diminishes symptoms, leaving you feeling more comfortable.
How quickly does Naprosyn work?
If you take Naprosyn exactly as directed you should begin to feel the effects of your treatment within 1 hour. Depending on the level of pain and inflammation you are experiencing it may take up to 3 days of regular use for you to feel the full benefits.
Naprosyn and other painkillers
Naproxen is the active ingredient in Naprosyn tablets. Naproxen is an NSAID, like aspirin and ibuprofen, but is recognised to be stronger, making it more effective at treating more severe pain and inflammation. Naproxen is thought to be a similar strength to another NSAID called Diclofenac, however, Naproxen is thought to be safer, causing fewer side effects.
Naproxen should not be taken at the same time as other NSAIDs, however, it is safe to take with other pain killers including paracetamol and opiate-based analgesics such as codeine and co-codamol.
