How does Daktarin Gold work?
Daktarin Gold 2% cream contains ketoconazole which is commonly used to treat fungal infection. When Daktarin Gold is applied to the skin, the ketoconazole targets fungal cells and makes holes in their membranes causing them to die which prevents further spread of the infection and heals the treated areas.
How long does Daktarin Gold take to work?
Daktarin should be used daily for at least 10 days to treat fungal nail and skin infections.
You should keep using the Daktarin cream up until 10 days even if it appears that your infection has cleared. If you stop using Daktarin earlier than 10 days the infection is more likely to come back. A normal course of treatment is from 2 to 6 weeks.
If your infection has not improved after using Daktarin cream daily for 10 consecutive days you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist for advice.
